    Download originals first

    Before turning off iCloud Photos, download the originals you need and confirm the iPhone has enough free storage.

    Open iCloud Photos settings

    In Settings, open your name → iCloud → Photos.

    Turn off sync for this iPhone

    Turn off Sync this iPhone.

    Choose what happens to copies
