Share a photo or document with AirDrop
Use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to AirDrop content to a nearby Apple device.
Choose a nearby recipient from the share sheet and send content directly.
Keep both devices nearby, turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both, and turn off Personal Hotspot.
STEPS
How to do it
-
1
Prepare both devices
Keep sender and recipient nearby, turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both, and turn off Personal Hotspot.
-
2
Choose AirDrop from Share
Open the photo or document, tap Share > AirDrop, then choose the recipient.
-
3
Accept on the receiving device
On the receiving device, tap Accept and confirm the shared content arrives.
You are done when the recipient accepts and the shared content opens on their device.
If the recipient is not in your contacts, they may need to temporarily change AirDrop receiving settings. Managed devices can restrict AirDrop.
