Find and protect a lost device with Find My

Use another Apple device or iCloud.com/find to locate and protect a lost device.

Check its location, play a sound, and use Lost Mode to lock it and display contact information.

When this helps

Find My must have been enabled on the missing device before it was lost.

STEPS

How to do it

    Open Find My elsewhere

    Open Find My on another trusted Apple device, or open icloud.com/find in a browser.

  2. 2

    Select the missing device

    Choose the missing device under Devices and check its location. If it may be nearby, you can also play a sound.

  3. 3

    Enable Lost Mode if needed

    If you cannot find it quickly, mark it as lost or enable Lost Mode and follow the prompts to add contact information.

When you are done

You are done when you have located the device or enabled Lost Mode as needed.

Good to know

A device that did not have Find My enabled before it was lost will not appear and cannot be remotely marked as lost. If theft is suspected, do not attempt recovery yourself; contact local authorities or your carrier as appropriate.
